Shared Element

While creating or adjusting a flow in the “Flow Editor” section of the campaign’s main menu, the elements library offers variations of metrics, questions, and other elements to choose from.

Enter the flow and click on the “+Add first element” or only the “+” option for the library to show up.

A new window pops up where you can choose from the multiple elements, one of them being IMPORT ELEMENT. The import element option empowers you to connect and upload existing questions from different flows to the one you are setting up or adjusting. Just type the internal name or question itself and check the box of the relevant one.

Then, you have two options while using the import element:
Import as copy = the original question will be copied from the original flow and pasted to the new one without any connection between these flows
Impost as shared element = the original question will not only be copied from the original flow and pasted to the new one, but the flows will be connected.

What to keep in mind while sharing elements within flows:

– once you change the element when it comes to wording (question and answer options), it will be changed in all of the flows it is shared through (this only applies to the text and design of the questions and elements, not to visibility, conditions, or optionality)

– final data collected through the question will be cumulated, and filtering will allow you to see results per flow.

Shared elements are marked with the “layers” icon. This icon, together with the error message, reminds you that changes within the design and wording will be transferred to all shared elements, not just the one you are adjusting.

Click on the “Shared” option (located on the right side of the element) to see all campaigns and flows where you use this exact element. By clicking on it, you redirect yourself to the specific flow.

āš ļø Please note that once you choose to import an element as a shared one, you are not able to change it to the “as copy” version and vice versa. The only option is to delete it and import it again in the desired version. Learn more about how to Adjust the flow elements.
