Estimated reading: 2 min 125 views

As of now, SMS sending is enabled directly in the platform for the following countries:
Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey, Spain, and the UK.
Other countries can also be supported; the process will be covered during the implementation phase.

Currently, we use NTH as an SMS channel provider. All up to date regulations and rules connected to the SMS distribution are provided by Staffino Project Manager or Customer Success Manager.

France Regulations

France (including French Overseas Territories) has introduced strict new regulations via NTH, effective April 30, 2025. These changes affect how SMS traffic can be sent to French numbers.

Prohibited sender IDs: French mobile network operators (MNOs) will block or modify messages using the following sender ID types:
• Numeric sender IDs
• Short codes
• Shared sender IDs
• Sender IDs with special characters

Penalties for violations:
• €5,000 fine per campaign that violates these rules
• The fine will be re-invoiced to the originating sender
• Each case is reviewed individually by the French MNOs

Our recommendation is to verify sender IDs specifically for traffic to France. We can get in touch with NTH directly to register a compliant sender ID for you.

Custom Sender Names

Slovakia (SK) and the Czech Republic (CZ): You can set custom sender names directly in the Staffino platform.

All other countries: Custom sender names must be set up by Staffino with NTH manually. If you wish to configure a custom sender name, please get in touch with your Staffino representative to initiate the setup with NTH.
